CRS’ Making Money from Vanilla

The Vines project, which is funded by USDA Food for Progress, aims to increase vanilla production, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and create sustainable market connections with international vanilla companies. The project is a collaboration between Catholic Relief Services, TechnoServe, Frontier Co-op, and the Sustainable Vanilla Initiative. In line with CRS goals, the project will have a direct impact on the lives of smallholder farmers, supply chain actors, and processing companies, and will help Uganda become the next leading supplier of high-quality vanilla, with exports expected to increase from 50MT to 350MT.
